Role Title: Events Executive

Reports To: Head of Events

Employer: MCE Public Relations, Belfast

Salary: Negotiable, dependent on experience

Contract Term: Full Time


Due to the continued expansion of MCE’s Event Management Department, we are recruiting for a full time events executive.  The successful candidate will manage a range of existing events projects and will be responsible for driving the future growth of MCE’s events business, managing a varied portfolio of projects from awards ceremonies to product launches, consumer events, experiential activity and media events.


The Role:

To take responsibility for the successful and profitable operation of client event projects.

To ensure the proper management, retention and development of client relationships with particular focus on the following:


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work to/with Head of Events on a day-to-day basis ensuring tasks are completed on schedule
  • Ensure Head of Events is up to date on all completed and required actions via briefing
  • Must be able to handle the management of clients and contracts which come under your remit
  • Take responsibility for the planning, logistics and management of allocated projects
  • Forecast, manage and control project budgets
  • Comply with the general office working procedures during the preparation of events
  • Organise and undertake site visits for the pre-planning exercises for events
  • Liaise with and manage all suppliers, venues, sponsors and other contributors effectively
  • Ensure that all relevant H&S documentation, risk assessments and method statements are completed and maintained competently throughout event process
  • Identify and capitalise on new business leads generated by event management
  • Negotiate terms with suppliers to gain best deal for MCE and clients
  • Manage the delivery of the events on-site, ensuring that the highest standards of professionalism are maintained throughout
  • Maintain client confidence and satisfaction through your work for the longevity of valued relationships and MCE Events team reputation
  • Take responsibility for all the invoicing and post-event correspondence including reconciliation and full financial management
  • As part of the MCE team, build and develop professional and appropriate personal relationships with clients
  • Must seek to grow MCE Events client base and workload through networking activities
  • Identify relevant opportunities or new business using relevant websites and forums for events tenders
  • Develop a network of professional relationships which will benefit MCE Events team
  • Update and maintain client information on internal server in an accurate and timely manner
  • Take an active part in team meetings and other important internal/external meetings
  • Be a positive influence within the MCE offices and contribute to the existing office culture and team ethos


Key Skills:

  • A minimum of three years’ proven experience in related event management roles
  • A proven ability to manage and control large and logistically complicated events and their budgets
  • A broad understanding of all major social media platforms and an ability to use as required in advance of, during and after events
  • Experience in writing post-event evaluations, blog posts and website articles
  • Ability to lead in the delivery of a social media strategy for MCE Events
  • Ability to communicate and consult effectively with clients at a senior level
  • Excellent logistic, financial and negotiation skills
  • IT literate (Microsoft and project management software packages)
  • Must be an honest, hard-working team player with a good sense of humour
  • Must exhibit tenacity, drive and energy in achieving objectives
  • Willingness to actively grow your current skillset
  • Confidence to establish new relationships and win new business through networking
  • Analytical, disciplined and articulate in delivery or oral and written presentation
  • Confident, personable and mature persona
