To mark 35 years of supporting people affected by crime, Victim Support NI hosted a specialist learning event addressing the vulnerability of victim in the Criminal Justice System. The event explored issues including re-victimisation, ground rules hearings and how criminal justice practitioners can ensure they are equipped to best represent vulnerable victims and develop a fair and positive victim experience.

Gathering in the Europa Hotel, guests had the opportunity to hear from accomplished speakers including Professor Penny Cooper, Michelle Colborne QC and Professor Anthony Pemberton.  Victim Support NI also used the event as an opportunity to launch their new 2016-20 Strategy ‘Something to Shout About’ which looks at the voice of the victim; service improvements and innovation and growth.

MCE were very accommodating and always responsive to our calls and requests throughout our event planning process. They were a pleasure to deal with, took a lot of the stress out of organising our event, and kept us right on the day. Our event went smoothly and received a very positive response from our stakeholders and invited guests.Geraldine Hanna, CEO Victim Support NI
