Home grown pizzeria, Little Wing has opened its eighth branch in Northern Ireland with an investment of £650K in Newtownards, creating a total of 20 jobs.
The restaurant, located on Conway Square, will officially open its doors to the public this Thursday (22nd February) following a number of pre-opening fundraiser sessions in aid of a range of local charities and kid’s clubs including, Ards Ladies Hockey Club, Rosie’s Trust, Crossroads Care NI, County Down Scouts and Ards Swimming Club. The pizzeria will be open for both lunch and dinner daily and will cater for up to 50 guests.
Established in Belfast in October 2009, Little Wing prides itself in offering authentic, made to order Naples-style pizzas, cooked in its distinctive 6ft traditional wood-stone pizza ovens. Sourcing the freshest and finest ingredients is at the heart of the Little Wing ethos, with 100% mozzarella cheese used on its pizzas and sauce made from San Marzano tomatoes, grown in volcanic soil near Naples.
Over the last nine years, Little Wing has gone from strength to strength, developing a strong customer following and selling over 1.6 million pizzas to date. The Newtownards branch will employ up to 20 new members of staff, bringing the total number of people employed across all Little Wing outlets to 154.
Luke Wolsey, Managing Director, Little Wing Pizzeria said:
“After months of planning, we’re proud to be opening our newest Little Wing Pizzeria in Newtownards and creating local jobs for people in the area. The property, a stunning Grade B listed building, in the town centre, situated in the middle of Conway Square, is a perfect location for our eighth restaurant.”
‘’As a thriving company we felt that this was the right time to grow the business again and to expand our opportunities in 2018. I am confident that the new branch will be a welcome addition to Newtownards and we are really looking forward to becoming involved with the local area and supporting local causes in the community.
‘’We are determined to continue to roll out the Little Wing brand across Northern Ireland and further afield and to explore further opportunities to expand our portfolios of restaurants in the near future.”
The latest restaurant opens as Little Wing’s Enniskillen is nominated for the prestigious Family First Awards, highlighting the equal opportunities the brand offers. The awards ceremony will take place in June.
