Hot Potato Is No Game For Adventure Boss

Operations manager, Glen Stewart and adventure provider boss, Gareth Murphy raise a toast to celebrate the arrival of Spud Murphy’s liquor licence, making it the only licensed eatery in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter.

Murphy signed the lease for the Harbour property earlier this year to launch Spud Murphy’s – a unique concept serving loaded Baked Potatoes, which are already proving a hit with locals and tourists.

His aim is to fuel the Quarter’s night-time economy and offer a casual dining option for those who work, live and visit the area. This venture, his first in hospitality, is further indication of his ongoing commitment to the regeneration of the Titanic Quarter, taking the total investment made in the area since 2018 to £3 million.

Just last month, Murphy announced he was injecting half a million pounds into the adjacent We Are Vertigo facility, where a 25,000 sq ft Inflatable action course is due to open in October 2019.

Gareth Murphy, managing director of We Are Vertigo, said: “The corporate hospitality market is crying out for novel and unique ways to entertain their staff, especially in the run up to Christmas, and we felt adding Spud Murphy’s to our portfolio was an excellent way of diversifying our offering.

“We’re also perfectly located to serve the scores of tourists that pass our venue every day, where they can now enjoy a cold beer or glass of wine with their meal.”
